How Durioo+ Came to Be
Every platform has an origin. Ours begins with a beloved children’s show, a changing algorithm, a father’s determination, and the recognition of a duty to the ummah.
Sinan Ismail started his journey by creating Omar & Hana — the beloved Islamic children’s show that became a global phenomenon, watched hundreds of millions of times by Muslim families around the world. Omar & Hana was built on a single belief: that Muslim children deserved content that reflected their faith, their values, and the beauty of Islam.
Then YouTube changed its algorithm. Revenue collapsed almost overnight. For many, that would have been the end of the story. But Sinan didn’t see a setback — he saw a sign.
He turned to his father and said: “Muslim children need more than this.”
His baba agreed. Together, they recognised that Allah had given their family a unique set of skills — the creativity, the experience, the deep understanding of what Muslim children and parents truly need. And with that recognition came not just an opportunity, but a sense of duty. A fard.
And so Durioo+ was born — a platform with one pure purpose: to give Muslim children content that makes them proud to be Muslim, teaches them about their deen, and gives parents a genuinely safe alternative to platforms where the algorithm is unpredictable and content is beyond your control.
